2027 Foundation (Prep) enrolment

If your child is turning 5 before 30 April 2027 they are eligible to enrol for Prep in 2027.

Our school zone

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined based on your permanent residential address.

Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child at a Victorian government primary school.
You can apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) in 2027 from Monday 20 April 2026.

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2027 at Aitken Hill Primary School from 20 April 2026.

Documentation you will need to enroll your child

Documentation required includes:

-Completed Enrolment Form

-Copy of the child’s original birth certificate or passport

-Immunisation certificate (this can be added later as the vaccinations are completed)

-Residency Visa [including sub-class number] for non-Australian Residents only

-Proof of the address – a copy of Drivers Licence and Rates notice or Land Contract/Rental Agreement/Statutory Declaration of family residence

What you need to do:

1. Book one of the 3 available Term 2 school tours (2027 Prep tour dates)  times to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process.
2. Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) . This pack includes an application form, which you can also request from our school.
3.  Submit an enrolment application (Prep) by Friday 31 July 2026.
4. You will be notified via email of the outcome of your enrollment after all forms and required documents have been reviewed (please ensure that all information, including email address, is clearly written on the enrolment form). 
5. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2026. Information regarding transition sessions will be emailed to you, and listed on the school website when available.

Enrolment applications submitted after 31 July 2026 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.

Our school provides opportunities for enrolment at any stage of the year for residents new to the area. Should you wish to enrol your child at Aitken Hill Primary School please contact the school by email at aitken.hill.ps@education.vic.gov.au

The priority order of placement at Aitken Hill Primary School is:

• Students for whom the school is the designated neighborhood school. Placement for these students is automatic and guaranteed.
• Students with a sibling attending the school at the same time and living at the same permanent address. Placement for these students is automatic and guaranteed.
• In exceptional circumstances, compassionate grounds.
• Enrolment at Aitken Hill Primary School complies with all laws relating to discrimination, equal opportunity, privacy and immunisation.

Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

Once your details have been verified as specified above, we will send you a digital copy of the formal enrolment form for completion or you may collect a hard copy from the school office.
